Art points to the glory of the artist. A painting tells of the magnificence of the painter. A gourmet dish declares the glory of the cook. In the same way, creation declares to us the Glory and Magnificence of God Himself. God’s creation tells us of His wonderful beauty, glory, love, supremacy, sovereignty, and majesty.
We now have new images that continue to tell us the awesome nature of the God we worship. Back in May, the Hubble Space Telescope had to undergo some major mechanical repairs. Since that time, NASA has been putting it into use, experimenting with the new capabilities of the telescope. Fox News has a slide show of images that the telescope has brought back. Let these images create in you a deeper sense of awe and wonder at the supreme creative work of God. Let God use these to bring you to your knees in worship this morning as you consider His glorious works and as you consider how this great God, ruler of all creation, 2,000 years ago stepped into time and took on human flesh to become a sacrifice so He could take on the wrath of God for our sin, so we could become His righteousness.
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” – Psalm 19:1
Ya know if God wasn't there then why all the beauty hidden for 21st century man to behold. He had to originally do it for Himself. Yet, that also shows the magnificient grace of the Holy One, He did it hundreds of years ago knowing that we would eventually see it and delight in the magnificience. Too bad we are corrupt in our own minds and not always give the glory to Him, not see that the clouds trace His steps across the earth calling out to us individually. Displaying His constant care and love while we wonder if he cares when things are tough. Looking for our help from government instead of the mountains.
Exactly! And the fact that we don't trust Him and glorify Him alone shows how much He really loves us because after all the times we constantly turn away from Him, He continues to pursue us and love us, when He has all the right in the world to leave us to ourselves, once again showing us the magnificent grace of the Holy One.
